I am in a creative mood. I feel creative. I feel inspired. I am full of creative energy. Let's get going.
Feeling creative is a wonderful feeling. Sometimes it is enough to 'feel' creative and real creativity will follow. At other times the feeling is only the starting point and you have to work at being creative-perhaps using the tried and tested tools of lateral thinking.
The feeling of wanting to be creative is the important first step. Without such a feeling it is difficult to get going at all.
Most of the time we are content to chug along following the set patterns of behaviour because these are pretty useful. The creative feeling means a willingness to challenge the routine patterns and assumptions and to seek out new ones.
Confidence is a very important part of creativity. Truly creative people have confidence in their creativity. They have the confidence that if they set their minds to be creative about something, then they will come up with creative ideas.
In all cases the 'feeling' of being creative is a valuable mood. It is a mood that should be encouraged and should also be signalled to those around. The mood code provides a means for just such signalling: 'It's 10/24 time. Let's get going!'
