This is the opposite of code 9/8. The participant is signalling agreement. The case has been made well. Now it may be that the participant started the meeting in favour of the proposal. Or the participant may have been neutral and is now convinced. It may even be that the participant started out against the idea and has changed his or her mind. The use of this code is a form of visible voting. It is an encouragement to the speaker. It could also be seen as a signal that the speaker does not need to go on. While disapproval is quite easily signalled by facial expression and body language, approval is more difficult to signal. In any case, signalling with facial expression or body language is only for the moment; displayed code cards can stay there for a long time.
