This is a weak case. I am doubtful. I am not convinced. I do not agree with the argument. I do not agree with the conclusion.
This code signals a general disagreement. The difficulty of using the code to disagree over one particular point is that the code needs to be attached to just that point. It maybe possible to flash the code 9/8 card and then to state the disagreement. It would be tedious if this were to be done too often. The code simply indicates that the presenter has not convinced the participant. The case may still be a good one but the presenter has not made the case out adequately. In practice, it may be difficult (and even unnecessary) to decide whether the fault is that of the presenter or of the proposal itself. The simplest statement of code 9/8 is: 'I am not convinced.'
