More information is needed at this point. I need more information. Can we have some facts and figures? Where is the hard data?
A philosophical discussion can operate in broad generalities without ever touching reality. Code 9/5 is a specific request for data. Because of the way the code cards will be used it may be difficult to request data at one specific point. The card may not be shown at this point or, if shown, may not be noticed. So code 9/5 is a general request for underlying data (if there is any). If there is no information, then the speaker is being asked to state this. At once the presentation is seen as speculation and philosophy. The request is really a request for a 'reality check'. In many cases the data will have been presented in written form to the participants beforehand. The data may also be shown as slides or computer-generated displays. Sometimes there is too much information and not enough use of the information. The code applies to situations where there seems to be a need for some hard data.
