Code 9/4 is a very polite way of suggesting that the speaker come to the end of his or her presentation. There is a direct request for a summary. There is a request to have the main points repeated. If the speaker has not yet covered an important area then the speaker should signal this and move at once to this area. At the same time the speaker needs to be conscious that he or she has been asked to hurry up. A summary is broader than a conclusion. The summary will also include the points that led to the conclusion. From the summary it may be possible for listeners to reach a conclusion different from that suggested by the speaker.
