This code expresses satisfaction. You like the idea. You like the plan. You like the meal. Code 8/23 is the seal of approval. This is not specifically restricted to youth situations. It could be used anywhere. There is, however, a need for it in the youth code because there is a need to express approval and satisfaction. A job well done needs appreciation. There is a difference between 8/22 and 8/23. If someone has done something for you then appreciation and gratitude are in order. If someone has done something that is good but has nothing to do with you then appreciation and approval are in order. So the code signals 'approval' by the person sending the code. 'I approve of this suggestion.' 'I approve of your winning the junior tennis tournament.'
