8/19
Let's have some peace and quiet. Stop that racket or go somewhere else.
Youth is energetic and exuberant. Age sometimes relishes tranquillity. The interface between the two is not always easy.
'Peace and quiet' is a value. It is perfectly legitimate to request it. You may have a right to make a noise but you do not have a right to impose the noise on others (as with smoking). So it is a matter of quietening down or going somewhere else- if that is possible.
There may be households which insist on quietness all the time. That may be rather restricting if there is no place to go to make a noise.
The code is a request, from time to time, for peace and quiet Overuse of the code diminishes its value.
'Some 8/19 please.' The strangeness and directness of the code may be more compelling than just asking for quiet.
