8/14
For some reason you are in a difficult and cranky mood. Could you snap out of it?
This is not a request for the reasons behind the cranky mood. It is simply a statement that 'your mood is cranky'. It is intended to make the person aware of this crankiness.
The cause may be tiredness, a hangover, the time of the month (PMT), preoccupation with a problem, etc.
The code really signals: 'Are you aware that you are being difficult and cranky?'
It is difficult to have insight into your own moods unless they are extreme. The code is a friendly reminder of how you are behaving. It is not intended to be a condemnation.
'Mum's 8/14 this morning.' 'Towards the end of a holiday everyone gets a bit 8/14.'
There is some overlap with the mood code (code 10).
