Some youngsters would never merit this warning. Others merit it all the time.
The code makes very clear what the parent or adult thinks. The level of behaviour which might trigger this code will vary from family to family but the meaning is clear enough.

The code encapsulates all the disapproval and displeasure there may be. It saves a lot of energy in scolding or shouting.

Because the code can be used in a cold and unemotional way the impact is greater than an emotional tirade.

As with several other codes, this code should not be overused or abused. If it comes to be used on every occasion of mild disapproval then it becomes devalued and is no longer available when it is really needed.
