2/4

What is the objective? What is the goal? What are we really trying to do? What are we aiming for?

Code 2/4 is equivalent to the AGO (Aims, Goals, Objectives) in both the CoRT and DATT programmes.
It is surprising how vague and poorly defined an objective may become. Or the objective may be clear at the beginning but then the momentum of the action takes over. Each next step is determined by the previous step. The original objective is blurred or even forgotten.

So code 2/4 is a request to focus again on the purpose of the thinking or action. What is to be achieved? There may be a broad objective and then more specific sub-objectives.

A defined value may be the objective, in which case the means to deliver that value are then sought.

It may be useful to ask: Why are we doing this? The same question is then asked of the answer-and so on. Sometimes, this can be carried too far with the ultimate question: Why are we alive?
