Shock, Horror and Outrage
Sadly, I fully expect the concepts put forward on this website to be treated with shock, horror and hysterical outrage by those word merchants who believe that language is perfect and complete.
Word games in the manner of traditional philosophy are no longer enough. To understand the human brain it is necessary to understand neural networks, self-organizing systems and biological systems.
Ask any mathematician whether a brain consisting of just five neurones would be capable of fifty thousand million thoughts, and the mathematician would laugh in your face. And yet, using a simple biological factor (not available to engineers), it is very simple. The factor is the 'tiring factor' - the key factor in brain organization.
Those who do not understand these things are both furious and floundering.
With limited knowledge on the subject it is hard to see the biological need for a higher order language. They will seek to sneer at 'making love by numbers' or some other such cleverism.
It was Einstein who said that any really new idea had to provoke outrage from those who could not understand it. So, in a way, the absurdity of the anticipated outrage will be flattering.
